Pantech Targets High-end Market with its PG-6100 in Argentina

Contents SEOUL, December 6, 2006: Pantech Co., Ltd., Korea's leading mobile phone
manufacturer, has announced today the launch of its PG-6100 multimedia phone,
targeting the high-end mobile phone market in Argentina.
The new handset will be offered via CTI Movil, the Argentine affiliate of American
Movil, the largest mobile carrier in Latin America. The PG-6100 provides users with
an advanced combination of both camera and phone technology, while also offering
a trendy and stylish design.
Keon C. Kim, Senior Vice President, Overseas Marketing, Pantech Group, said:

The PG-6100, the intenna clamshell phone, features a 2 mega pixel camera with
smooth 4x digital zoom and a 1.9 inch 260,000 color TFT display as well as a 260,000
color OLED sub-display. It also provides Bluetooth functionality, a speakerphone,
and an FM radio.
The new phone also provides a large 256MB internal memory, and 64 polyphonic
ring tones. Users can also send photos and phone numbers to other mobile phones
through the phone's infra-red data association (IrDA) functionality.
Pantech has become the sixth best-selling brand in Argentina since its first entry in
the country late 2005. Pantech recently introduced the three GSM handsets - PG-
3810, PG-1310V, and PG-1610 - to the Argentina's mobile phone market in
September. The PG-1410, launched early this year, is one of the best selling bar-
type camera phones.
Pantech expects its market share in the Argentine mobile phone market to reach up
to 6 percent in 2006. The company plans to further increase its market share at least
up to 10 percent by the end of 2007.
